Unite!
I just spoke to an old friend of my wife on the phone. He just took a job with the Teamsters as a labor organizer. I was amused to hear him complain about being overworked and underpaid.
Actual conversation follows:
Me: (half jokingly) So, do you have any plans to try and organize the organizers?
Him: (seriously) Hell no. I hear they fire people for that kind of thing.
The Son of Ghoulardi Just Knows
I came across some very interesting text on the website for P.T. Anderson’s new film, Punch-Drunk Love:
this site will change from time to time with things that you can take, have, possess, discard or simply pass by. everything here is free and can be used in any way as you see fit.
It seems Ghoulardi’s son is even cooler than I had originally thought.
Newsfeed Newsflash
I will no longer be reading any blogs that don’t provide an RSS or RDF newsfeed. It has become just too much work to periodically check all the sites my news aggregator can’t get to. If you are using Movable Type or Blogger Pro, you probably don’t need to worry about this, otherwise, please get with the program.
On a side note… Does XML syndication remind anyone else of PointCast?
Tell Us How You Really Feel
Well it seems Joni Mitchell has a few not-so-kind words for the record industry. I’m actually a bit suprised she’s saying such things, now that she’s on Nonesuch Records, which has reputation for treating it’s artists pretty well.
In any case, go Joni!
Moo-Moo
While attending my wife’s 10-year high-school reunion at the Kansas Historical Museum, I came across a two-headed calf in a glass display. It was sitting next to a 55 pound hairball from a cow’s stomach. It should suffice to say that the freakshow alone made the trip worthwhile.
Two Cool Cats
A new camcorder, iMovie, and my cats. (13.3 MB, Quicktime)
The Brain Trust
I’m listening to the President’s speech right now and cringing as he repeatedly mispronounces the word “nuclear.”
God help us all.
